Net-Zero First Design StudioSunday, May 23, 2021 until Sunday, August 15, 2021 Eastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00 This free 12-week course and competition provides a complete step by step process for designing net-zero buildings. After completing a research and analysis process, students will learn how to maximize building performance through a highly structured set of processes including: preliminary design, passive design, building envelope design and active design steps. Students will learn how to use simple energy models and daylight simulations to validate the performance of they move through the process. After reaching net-zero energy levels, the students will explore the aesthetic potential of their projects and culminate with a final validation to prove net-zero energy performance. Students will receive a free trial version of the software necessary to complete the course. Students must have access to Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides in order to post their work.
